2019 Recital Information

It's that wonderful time of year again, it's recital time! Our end-of-season recital is a time of celebration, as we celebrate our dancers, their growth, their successes and their achievements over the past 10 months we are reminded how amazing and talented these kids are. They have worked very all season learning new skills, and have perfected their choreography to present it ti you. I am thrilled to bring Kaleidoscope, a vibrant celebration of colour to our stage, it is packed with dances with positive messages of acceptance and love.

Check your inbox for your Recital Package, it contains all the information you need to have a successful recital. They are also available at the studio and all the information is posted on the message board outside the office.  Here are a few important things to remember:

RECITAL DAY INFO & PROCEDURES

RECITAL DAY: Saturday, June 15, 2019
RECITAL TIMES: 10:30am and 4:30pm 
RECITAL LOCATION: Forest City Community Church, 3725 Bostwick Road, London
CHECK-IN: It is recommended that all dancers arrive at Forest City Community Church 30 minutes prior to show time on recital day.  This extra time will allow your dancer to arrive, dress, and get comfortable prior to taking the stage. Many of the costumes have intricate detailing and skirting that could be damaged when buckled into a seatbelt, therefore please use the designated dressing areas to avoid costume damage. Costumes damaged while in your care will incur repair charges. Parents will be asked to sign their dancers in at the front entrance. Here, you will be given the location of your dancer’s dressing room. One parent may escort their dancer to the dressing area and to help them change, but we ask that all other family members and friends to take their seats upon arrival. Only volunteers and studio staff are permitted backstage after check-in and during the recital. All dancers will remain backstage for the duration of the performance.

CHECK IN TIMES: *All dancers must be checked din 30 minutes prior to recital start times.*
10:30am recital: check-in time is 10:00am
4:30pm recital: check-in time is 4:00pm
CHECK-OUT: To check out your dancer, please send 1 parent to your dancer’s dressing room where they were dropped off. Students will wait in the dressing room with their class and volunteer until a parent comes to pick them up.*Dancers will only be dismissed to leave after the recital is over.*
LABEL EVERYTHING: Please ensure your dancer’s personal belongings are clearly labeled. Costumes will already be labeled with your dancers name upon receipt.RECITAL

DRESS REHEARSALS

Monday, June 10, 2019: Tiny Dancers, Tiny Tappers, Pre-Primary and Primary Dancers
Start Time: 4:00pm

Friday, June 14, 2019: Level 1-5, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate, Advanced and Senior Levels
Start Time: 4:00pm

Dress rehearsals will be held at Forest City Community Church starting at 4:00pm. Dancers will only need to attend one dress rehearsal. Please refer to your recital package or ask your teacher for which rehearsal your dancer will attend. **LTC and LTC Jr. performers will only need to attend the same rehearsal they are required to attend for their regular dance classes.

Dress rehearsal is a practice for the recital, and is an important part of having a successful show. Participation in the dress rehearsal is mandatory for all performers. All dancers are to come prepared with all costumes and accessories*, tan-coloured tights, shoes, and full recital hair and make up done as recital photos will be taken during rehearsals.
Dancers will be dismissed from rehearsal once they have finished rehearsing their routines and have had their group photo taken. Parents are welcome to stay during rehearsals, but we ask that you remain in the auditorium or the front lobby area unless you are volunteering in the dressing areas.

*All costumes will be distributed at your dancer’s regularly scheduled dance class(es) closer to recital time. Once the costumes have been released we ask that you keep them in good care until the recital. All costumes and accompanying accessories are the property of Belle Pointe Dance & Movement Company and will be collected right after the performance on Saturday, June 15th. There will be a costume return desk set-up promptly after the performance, please be sure to sign your rented costumes and accessories back in to avoid lost costume or late return fees.
